The Droid 2, User Experience, and EDA360

I’m in a hotel room in Louisville, Kentucky for Thanksgiving. In the bedroom, I can hear my Motorola Droid 2 phone say “Droid” in a metallic, mechanical voice as some new email comes in. I’ve had this phone do the same thing in really embarrassing situations such as in the middle of a press conference with Cadence CMO John Bruggeman. Fortunately, it happened while he was talking about the Android operating system so everyone thought it was a hilarious part of the event. It wasn’t.

I often turn this sound off. Just as often, it turns itself back on…by itself.

Is this phone from Motorola or from SkyNet?
