John Donovan, the proprietor of www.low-powerdesign.com, recently interviewed four Cadence representatives at the CDNLive! event held at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown San Jose, California. In this second video interview, Cadence Group Director Dave Desharnais explains the issues associated with creating and end-to-end flow within the newly announced Cadence Silicon Realization solution and how design intent, design abstraction, and design convergence play significant roles in the process. Desharnais also talks about how the Common Power Format (CPF) aides in communicating power intent among tools.
Finally, Desharnais discusses Silicon Realization and design convergence. “If you can’t converge on your design, who cares about your intent?” he asks.
