This week, the EDA Consortium (EDAC) held its annual CEO Forecast and Industry Vision evening soiree at the Doubletree Hotel adjacent to the San Jose International Airport. After an hour of hobnobbing with a couple of hundred people who are the collective leaders of the EDA industry, and snacking on Chinese chicken salad and soba noodles (looks like 99% of the EDA industry leadership handles chopsticks well), the conference room filled to hear the panel led by EDA industry consultant and star blogger Daniel Nenni. The panelists included:
- Charlie Huang, Chief Strategy Officer, Cadence Design Systems
- Wally Rhines, Chairman and CEO, Mentor Graphics
- Aart de Geus, Chairman and CEO, Synopsys
- Ravi Subramanian, President and CEO, Berkeley Design Automation

Each of the panelists had a lot to say. For a detailed account of what they said, see Richard Goering’s Industry Insights blog post on the event: http://j.mp/huLn1Y. Next week, I’ll post edited videos of the event here.
