Want to get some attention for your product? Add apps. That’s what Barnes & Noble just did to its Nook Color eReader (www.nookcolor.com). It added apps and existing Nook Color owners can upgrade their units to add apps with a firmware download. Suddenly, you get attention. MSNBC’s Wilson Rothman wrote in this article:  “When Barnes & Noble launched the Nook Color last November, I called it a ‘charming little misfit,’ but said ‘it may grow into something more powerful.’ Once I test it out, I’ll say for sure, but it sure seems like the company made good on its promise to turn this into a full-fledged tablet.”

Apps-driven design and its significant contribution to end-product value is a fundamental concept of the EDA360 vision.
