Bill Stumpf created the Herman Miller Aeron chair, perhaps the single most recognized icon of the dotcom office. It’s also a darned comfortable chair.
Is it an EDA360 chair?
Yesterday, I went chair shopping with a friend at a local Herman Miller showroom. My friend picked up a Herman Miller book titled “Our Spirit of Design” while we were there. Here’s a Bill Stumpf quote from this book that immediately made me think of the EDA360 philosophy:
“Design confronts reality. It doesn’t try to hide things. Design advocates the future.”
Bill Stumpf passed away in 2006. For chairs, he was ahead of his time. For EDA360, he was also ahead of his time.
