Itching to try out the Xilinx Zynq-7000 EPP? Ask your doctor if Zedboard is right for you

Avnet and Diligent have teamed up to produce a development board for the Xilinx Zynq-7000 EPP (Extensible Processing Platform), a revolutionary device that fuses a hard-core dual ARM Cortex-A9 processor complex with a fair amount of FPGA fabric. The board includes:

  • One Xilinx Zynq XC7Z020 EPP device
  • 512Mbytes of DDR3 SDRAM
  • 256Mbytes of QSPI Flash
  • A 4Gbyte SD Card pre-formatted with a bootable Linux OS
  • On-board USB-JTAG programming
  • A 10M/100M/1G Ethernet port
  • USB OTG 2.0 and USB-UART
  • I/O expansion
  • Multiple display ports (1080p HDMI, 8-bit VGA, 128×32 OLED)
  • I2S Audio Codec

The ZedBoard kit includes the ZedBoard, power supply, USB cable, and the pre-configured SD card containing a bootable Linux reference design.

Avnet will be selling the commercial version of this board for $399 and Diligent will sell an academic version for $299 for properly credentialed buyers. Details including ordering information for both the commercial and academic versions at www.zedboard.org.
