Friday Video: Circuit simulation app for Android. SPICE for $10, runs in your hand? Well, almost.

Here’s the most unlikely Android app I can imagine: a fully realized circuit simulator created for touch-screen use on Android phones and tablets. How geeky can you get? The $10 app is named EveryCircuit. It was written by Igor Vytyaz and it’s available in the Android Market. (There appears to be a free version too with a limited sandbox to play in.)

EveryCircuit is not a full-blown SPICE simulator (at least not yet) but is that really a surprise for a tenner? Mighty handy as a SPICE trainer for students perhaps. It seems to be highly rated too. Here’s a comment from “Sam” in the Android Market:

“This app is great for students, and anyone interested in electronics. I can sit reading a book on electronics with Every Circuit and a calculator open on my Droid and follow along the examples in the book.”

Here’s a video review of the app:

Tip of the hat to my good friend David Thon for the pointer.
